THE PRACTICE OF CONNECTING
As you move into the third week you have spent a lot of time looking at the Mind and the Self. This week you will step right into an experience and one that will begin to open up your journey in a whole new way. Like any practice you need to start and in time you will develop your skill at "Connecting". For now be patient and compassionate with where you are. Trust that it will all become clearer as you take on these weekly exercises.
The more you practice Connecting the easier and easier it will be for you to hear the Mind at play and know that in any moment you can quiet that voice and tune into this intuitive part of YOU on demand, anywhere at anytime. This truly is the gift you give yourself as you trust and honor the real YOU in your life.
CONNECTING IS NOT MEDITATION
You may or may not be aware of what meditation is. Meditation is the practice or process of quieting your minds thoughts, allowing them to be there as they flow and move through your mind and to stay in a quiet place for a period of time. It is a great practice and although Connecting looks very similar to meditation it is indeed not meditation at all. Connecting is the practice of quieting the mind while fully engaging the inner YOU, or intuitive part of yourself, as you engage in an inquiry and listen for the answers and actions to be in life from your Self. This will become experientially clearer as you practice Connecting.
PREPARING TO CONNECT
Like meditation, in the beginning you will want to do this in a quiet space without outside distractions. You will be listening to a guided connection audio piece so you can either do this through headphones or a stereo in a bedroom or quiet home office space. You will want a comfortable place to site or lie down so that your body can completely relax. You will also want to have a pencil/pen and paper or journal to write down your experience and what actions come to you from your Self after you come out of the Connection.
PART 1 The Morning Connection
This week you will begin the process by simply doing a morning connection each day. This will help you begin to create a new practice and start your day off in a great and peaceful state as you step into each new day this week. Simply get yourself prepared as stated above and when you are ready you can listen to the audio clip below and follow the instructions.
PART 2 The Evening Connection
If you are enjoying the process and looking to dig a little deeper into this new space then we suggest taking on the evening connection as well to end your day. This is not required but is offered as a support to develop your skill at listening to and trusting the energy of your Self as you begin to tune into its frequency and resonance.
THIS WEEK'S EXERCISE
EMBRACE WHAT YOU GIVE
Recall 5 compliments that people have said to you. Write them down (they can be what a family member has said, coworker, friend, neighbor... things like "you're beautiful" or "you have a great smile" or "I love hanging out with you" or "You were such a good support for me")
Take your time - You may have to think hard, and really want to recall them, because the Mind doesn’t keep these thoughts in the forefront of life. The Mind intentionally disregards compliments.
Close your eyes and remember the experiences when you got the compliments.
Recall how it made you feel.
Recall your experience. (a smile, a laugh, a hug...)
See this as who you really are. Embrace what you give to the world by YOU being YOU.
When you set aside time in your schedule to recall WHO YOU ARE and WHAT YOU GIVE to the world around you...
you create love and honor for your Self in your life.
REMEMBER: YOUR MIND IS DESIGNED TO ALWAYS LEAVE YOU FEELING LIKE YOU HAVE TO FIX SOMETHING ABOUT YOU.
BUT YOU ARE NOT YOUR MIND.
